2003 Toyota Matrix

Produced in February as a 2003 model, Toyota Matrix features redesigned 2003
Corolla crossover wagon, engines and transmission and Toyota's Celica sporty coupe.
This means that it gets the sporty agility, spacious interiors and smooth steering
of both cars with range of versions and options. Standard and XR trims use the
same engine as the 2003 Corolla with front wheel models in either five-speed manual
or four-speed automatic with uphill and downhill shift.
This version comes in standard 1.8-litre engine with 130 horsepower and 125 lb.
ft of torque. For XRS which comes only in front-wheel drive with 1.8-litre DOHC
four cylinder. 6-speed manual transmission is standard with optional four-speed
automatic Hand-adjusted mirrors, CD stereo system, full gauges with outside temperature
reading, split folding rear seats and rear cargo cover are just a few of the improved
interior features. To avoid shifting of cargo, eight steel tie-down rings with
sliding track system are used.
