2004 Toyota Matrix
2004 Matrix comes in full throttle in May 2003 equipped with new features such
as remote keyless entry and power windows and locks. XR models come with underbody
spoilers, seat-height adjuster, fog lamps, sport steering alloy wheels and moon
roof. Standard equipment includes air conditioning with air filtration, wipers,
cargo cover and a 53.2 cargo volume with seats folded.

Its "edge-web" body panels have sharp surface edges but with rounded web-like
contours show a strong, flowing character lines. Standard tires measure 16 inches
with optional 17 inches for XR and XRS models. Alloy wheels are standard on XRS
and optional on Standard and XR models. Standard and XR models use 1.8-liter four-cylinder
engine with 130 hp and 123 hp when equipped with all-wheel drive.
XRS carries a 173-hp version of the 1.8-liter engine and a close-ratio six-speed
manual gearbox in front-wheel drive. The stability, design, built and style are
refined but road noise is noticeable specially when speed is increased. Its steering
precision, less wheel vibration and backseat space is better than the Corolla
though it still needs a little stimulating.
